The speakers and their topics are planned to be of interest and concern to the club. Some speakers' talks are on subjects of current events and others may be on local programs or organizations that could use our help. That help may come in the form of monetary or time contributions which is the reason why our members became Rotarians. Club Policy is chaired by the immediate past president. With the help of the other past presidents he has the task of reviewing the club's policy manual and bringing before the membership suggested changes for board and member approval. Once approved it dictates procedure for the club during the current year. Fellowship is an important component of any Rotary Club and ours is no different. The weekly meetings offer a chance for members to enjoy each other's company before the meetings are called to order but often they want other opportunities to visit and develop closer friendships. It is this committee that plans events to achieve this objective. It usually puts on two large social functions a year, Christmas being one and another in the spring. It also plans several smaller events held at individual member's homes or local venues. Fund Raising is certainly the most important aspect of the Rotary Club of Altadena. With out it the club probably would not exist and most assuredly the various programs we participate in could not be implemented. The fund raising committee is responsible for planning several events each year to accomplish this. They include pancake breakfasts, barbecues, and raffles all of which also make the community aware of our existence and the good we do. Rosters, Banners and Signs also help to promote our club. This committee compiles the list of all our members and their occupations, which is published with certain information made available to the public. Banners are produced and displayed at all meetings and functions that the club sponsors. As one enters our community he or she will see signs displayed along the road side that promote our Rotary Club and its meeting schedule so that anyone interested could attend learn more about us. & Chairman's Planning Guide -- | CPG | Click here for Up Coming Speakers, Programs & Events |
